Hemingway infamously claimed that it took him 39 rewrites to get the final page of A FAREWELL TO ARMS just right. This book, in our humble opinion, is one of those gateway drugs to literature that if consumed at any early age, you’re pretty much addicted for life. So be it. There are worse life-long occupations than reading.

Hemingway’s handwritten first draft of the first page of A Farewell to Arms

According to the NY Times, Scribner will be re-issuing A FAREWELL TO ARMS with Hemingway’s alternate endings and with the original awesome, Greek-looking cover art. We welcome this, and eagerly await its arrival. If you haven’t read it yet, friends, you’re missing out.
