Today’s Literary Term is: Pathetic Fallacy.

1. The pathetic fallacy: the treatment of inanimate objects as if they had human feelings, thought, or sensations. Eg. “The stars will awaken.”


2. The pathetic fallacy: the belief that by drinking only light beer the Portly Producer will stop gaining weight. Eg. “I will stop gaining weight if, from now on, I only drink light beer.”
