Just finished Trout Fishing in America only three weeks after blazing through A Confederate General in Big Sur, and I am filled with the feeling of nostalgia for a time when you could just bum around the West Coast with your girlfriend and a few weird buddies and camp and fish and drink and tool around with worrying about a job or anything. What is up with our generation, obsessed with work and status and money? Recommended for fans of the Beat Generation and of the oft cliched simpler times. Start with Big Sur and move to Trout Fishing next.
I mean, just look at this dude. What a boss.
