In honor of today’s Wilco concert in Central Park, we present to you, oh literarians, the Top Ten Wilco songs of all time. If you click on the following link, you should be able to hear this Wilco play-list on Grooveshark.

Top Ten Wilco Songs (not in order, but in order as they appear on the playlist):

  • Can’t Stand It (Summerteeth)
  • California Stars (Mermaid Avenue Vol. I)
  • Nothin’severgonnastandinmyway (Summerteeth)
  • Casino Queen (A.M.)
  • Misunderstood (Being There)
  • Airline to Heaven (Mermaid Avenue Vol. II)
  • How to Fight Loneliness (Summerteeth)
  • Poor Places (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot)
  • She’s a Jar (Summerteeth)
  • Via Chicago (Summerteeth)
  • Sunken Treasure (Being There)

Honorable Mention:

  • I Am Trying To Break Your Heart (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot)
  • Sky Blue Sky (Sky Blue Sky)
  • I Must Be High (A.M.)
  • A Shot in the Arm (Summerteeth)
  • Far, Far Away (Being There)
  • Someone Else’s Song (Being There)
Looking over this, it’s obvious that Summerteeth must’ve been the most formative album in the Literary Man’s relationship with the band, although, critically, it’s hard not to argue that Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the band’s most innovative, genre-obliterating success. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the band’s “Kid A”, to make a Radiohead analogy.
